-To install Calc:
-
- 1. Type "uncompress calc-2.02.tar.Z"
-
- 2. Type "tar xvf calc-2.02.tar"
-
-1,2. Alternatively: "zcat calc-2.02.tar.Z | tar xvf -"
-

- of the current directory in which to place its files.
-
- 4. Follow the instructions in the file "INSTALL".

Calc is written entirely in Emacs Lisp, for maximum portability.
You do not need to recompile Emacs to install and use Calc.
